"Troup Capt. R. N. Waite RAF
c/o Westminster Bank Ltd.
Irongate, Derbe, Engand

"Have many hundreds of names of the family collected from church registers of 70 odd parishes near Tonbridge, Kent, includeing Meopham (or Medpram) all since 1557.

"Also many odd records of the Isle of Wight family of Brighstone, between Tanmouth (Tarmouth?) 10 W and St. Caths Point.   The original house can still be seen called "Waytes Court", believed to be the third to be built on the site given to Henry le Wayte in 1086, or thereabouts, as recorded in the Doomsday Book.   It is now a small and attractive farm house with 100-200 acres of good land.

" A very old Waite house is Wymering Manor 2 to 3 miles north of Portsmouth at Cosham which was inhapbited by William Wayte in the 17 th century.   It began as a square Lascon (?) house and has been added to, contains a very fine staircase, but is in danger of being pulled down for modern building development.
